I Solemnly Swear I Am Up To No Good

(Photo: Brilliant, but unknown source)

Nothing like following the "I'm 25!" post with the "I saw the last Harry Potter on opening night" post.

This was my first midnight movie.  I hadn't anticipated the shocking amount of plaid and audience participation.  Also, I don't recommend drinking 20 ounces of iced coffee before it starts, or you'll spend the last quarter of the movie in bladder agony.

The film was good, though quite bittersweet.  I listened to the 7th book on tape during the drive up to my senior year of college.  I was unpacking my belongings into my dorm room as the character's lives were summed up neatly in the post-script.  I was folding clothes...and sobbing.  Their lives at school were ending, my life at school was ending.  They were adults, I was an adult.  And while it's been several years since then, it still represents a distinct part of my adolescence.

A very fond farewell, Harry.

  4. Love that collage! I saw HP at 1 in the morning, I loved the audience participation! (applause, laughter, etc.) I'm sad about it all being over too though. I'm reading the last book again just to keep it going!

  11. I listened to the 7th book on audio too, after reading it. I adore Stephen Fry!! (I assume there's only one version of the audio books?)

It feels like a final end to my childhood, now that HP has ended.. Does this mean I have to grow up?
